Awesome Hotel Kuala Lumpur – Aloft KL Sentral Malaysia Breezy Suite Review

I was looking for an awesome hotel Kuala Lumpur to stay for my belated birthday celebration during my ShahShay.com’s Asian Tour. There’s plenty of Kuala Lumpur accommodation to choose from but my bestie Brian was in town so I knew it had to be a KL Sentral hotel.

A hotel near KL Sentral was very important to us because KL Sentral is a major hub in the city. Trains like KTM Komuter, Light Rapid Transit (LRT), the new Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and KLIA Express (that connects to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport) congregate there so it’s essential to be near KL Sentral for easy get-around town. So if you’re visiting Kuala Lumpur (or affectionately called as “KL” by locals) for the first time, find a KL Sentral hotel even though there are many other hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. And I would totally recommend you choose Aloft KL Sentral as I did for my belated birthday celebration with my Best Friend Forever ?‍♂️!

Why choose Aloft KL Sentral hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia?

Since I am originally from Kuala Lumpur, people often ask me “where to stay in Kuala Lumpur?” One recommendation I’d give them would be Aloft KL Sentral. Why? Well, literally, like totes realness, it is one of the best hotels in Kuala Lumpur Sentral area.

This KL hotel is the biggest and the nicest Aloft branded hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Aloft hotel Kuala Lumpur Sentral has 482 rooms & suites, multiple meeting rooms, ballrooms, restaurants, and bars. I’m used to the Aloft hotels in the U.S. that always feel like a budget hotel version of the W but certainly is not the case for this Aloft KL Sentral hotel. It has an upscale feel to it, yet it’s reasonably priced. Also it’s not just a hotel near KL Sentral area, this Aloft hotel Kuala Lumpur is actually connected to that KL Sentral transportation hub I previously mentioned as well as a gigantic shopping mall called Nu Sentral. Talk about convenience!

I’m partial to Starwood Preferred Guest hotel program (SPG) which is now owned by Marriott International because they always treat me right. For example, in this stay as a SPG Platinum member, I got upgraded to the Aloft KL Sentral Breezy Suite. This was most excellent because this time I’m staying with Brian so a bigger room would be better for us. This is why I keep staying with Marriott’s SPG hotels in Kuala Lumpur and everywhere else!

One of the Best hotels in Kuala Lumpur with an excellent Breezy Suite

I was totally stoked with getting upgraded to the Aloft KL Sentral Breezy Suite. This fantastic hotel Kuala Lumpur has several suites but its Breezy Suite is the best one because it’s located near the top of the the tall hotel building, in this case the 24th floor! You’re like highhhhhh up there! When it’s high, it’s Breezy. Get it? hehe

The Breezy Suite at the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, Malaysia is quite spacious. Upon entering, we were greeted by the dining area with tall dining table and chairs. Kinda reminds me of a theme in Malaysia. When you first meet a Malaysian, the first thing he/she will probably ask you is “Sudah makan?”, meaning “Have you eaten?”. Food is like number 1 priority for Malaysians so it’s apt for this KL hotel to present dining table and chairs *first* when you enter this suite haha

Birthday cake for me? Is this the best hotel in KL or what?!!

Yep, I got a chocolate birthday cake and a hand-written Happy Birthday note from the General Manager. Classy? I thought so.

Aloft KL Sentral hotel dining area also has a sink and coffee machine with teas and coffee packets.

If you want to do Kuala Lumpur accommodation right, you include the Mini Bar for free. All 5 star hotels in Kuala Lumpur should do this! Like this one. This one actually did. Oh yeah! The fridge contained a Carlsberg beer, few cans of soft drinks, apple juice, 2 bottles of sparkling water and Aqua Panna stillwater. Also there were snacks on the living table like Pringles, nuts, oreos, crackers etc. All complimentary.

Naturally, we raided the Mini Bar. Oh yes we did, #obvi. ?

Aloft hotel Kuala Lumpur Sentral big living room

I like a KL hotel with a big living room. I just like space. Even when I’m traveling alone, I love lots of space. And Aloft hotel Kuala Lumpur Sentral did not disappoint. And those birthday balloons were a nice touch though.
You’ll float too!!!! Ehehheeheh ?

If only all the hotels in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia have comfy furniture like these, life would be great! Brian actually chose to sleep on the sofa and he said it was comfortable.

Oh, there’s also a guest washroom connected to the living/dining space as well so it’s perfect if you are staying with a friend like in our case because everyone has their own toilet. 

Can your KL hotel compete with Aloft KL Sentral hotel ? Try more balloons!!!

Awww….look what Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral Malaysia did for me! A Happy Birthday sign decorated the head of the bed, with gold and pink balloons and a little green stuffed toy from their collection – supposedly he is called Tee-Tee but I renamed him (like I like to rename everything else haha) Toyol because in he looks just like a Toyol (a Malaysian folklore demon baby who steals money LOL!). So sweet!!!! Thank you Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral hotel!!!

The bed was very comfortable to sleep in and the pillows were fluffy and huggable. I didn’t use those long body pillows though so I can’t comment on those. Nope, Toyol didn’t sleep with me. ?

As you can see, the KL Sentral view from the bedroom is fantastic. I’m not sure what Plaza Sentral is, I’m thinking those are office buildings in the vicinity of the transportation hub. If you haven’t guessed it already, Sentral is “Central” in Malaysian language. So naturally everything is here.

THE most colorful bathroom of all 5 star hotels in Kuala Lumpur

I mean just look at the multi-colored, rainbow and sunshine, super duper happy tiles! ?????

I love Aloft’s marine shower gel! That stuff smells wonderful. And showering in this brightly colored glass tiles was kinda fun! ❤????

You’re also gonna be super happy doing your business. ?

The bathroom was actually quite big with 2 sinks, sizable separate toilet and shower as you saw above, and Aloft KL hotel bath amenities.

To be one of the best hotels in Kuala Lumpur, a KL hotel would have thought through the needs of their hotel guests from A to Z. I for one, expect certain things and hate calling Front Desk to ask for an amenity that all hotels Kuala Lumpur Malaysia or anywhere for that matter, should have. Aloft KL Sentral hotel proved an excellent example of providing essential amenities one would expect from any 5 star hotels in Kuala Lumpur:

2 robes ✅
2 slippers ✅
2 extra towels ✅
Ironing board and iron ✅
Flashlight (oh yeah blackouts still happens regularly in Malaysia) ✅
In-room safe ✅

Also standard Aloft hotel bath amenities were provided. Did I mention that I like not having to call for anything? ?

Awesome Hotel Kuala Lumpur with equally Awesome view!

As you saw partially earlier, Aloft KL Sentral hotel in Kuala Lumpur has excellent panoramic views from the Breezy Suite level. Since it’s basically a corner suite, you get like a 270 degrees view of the Kuala Lumpur Sentral area with other tall buildings in the vicinity.

Brian and I had so much fun staying in our Breezy Suite at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral, Malaysia.
