This is my Le Méridien Suite Review at The Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur during my recent stay in the capital city of Malaysia. A fantabulous stay I must say! A cozy suite in one Kuala Lumpur’s centrally located hotels – you really can’t ask for more!
Returning to Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur
Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur is actually one of my favorite places to stay in KL. I’ve stayed there many times before due to the its central location. It’s actually right next to Kuala Lumpur’s major transportation hub, “KL Sentral”. Jump on the KLIA Express train to KL International Aiport 1 & 2 or take the MRT/LRT/Monorail/Komuter trains to KL’s hot spots like Pasar Seni / Central Market where you get your Malaysian souvenirs fix & Bukit Bintang where the posh Pavillion shopping center is at – the choice is yours! Also there are trains and buses to other cities in Malaysia right at your disposal.
You see why the location of this particular Le Méridien is ideal now? ?
The Le Méridien Suite
Even though I’ve stayed at Le Méridien KL many times before, this is actually my first time staying at the Le Méridien Suite. As Titanium member of Marriott BonvoyTM , I have always been upgraded my favorite Terrace Suite (separate review for that one coming soon!) but this time I got the Le Méridien Suite due to limited availability. And I actually like this one too!
Welcome to the Le Méridien Living Room
A hotel suite typically consists of a living space with sofa and table that is separate from the bedroom. Once you enter the door to the Le Méridien Suite, you will be greeted by a mid-century modern writing desk.

There’s a cool looking globe behind it too.

The mid-century modern decor carries throughout the living furniture as you can see below. I was celebrating my belated birthday during this stay so the staff was nice enough to place balloons and a chocolate cupcake for such social event of the season! ?
I love that the smiley face balloons’ color matches the the rest of the color scheme of the suite. Nicely thought out! Little things makes detail-oriented me happy.

The living room is quite spacious. There’s also a big screen TV on the left that I never used. I just don’t watch TV in hotels. As you can see there’s one of the 2 sliding doors that leads to the bedroom.

Here’s the other sliding door. I like the multiple entrances. Adds to aesthetics of the Le Méridien Suite IMHO! That reads “in my humble opinion”. Not what you think.

By the way, have you considered these must-haves for your travel packing list?
Another view of the spacious living room that you get with the Le Méridien Suite.

By the door there’s also a sliding mirror with a closet space inside with robe and hangers.

There’s also flashlight, iron and ironing board. If you rather get your clothes pressed by the staff, you can pay for that too. For Platinum+ members, there’s also a MYR29 daily credit for laundry that you can take advantage of!

2 pairs of slippers are provided too! I love when hotels do this. There’s some shoe mitt and sewing kit as well.

Le Méridien Suite Mini Bar
Next to the closet there’s also a well stocked mini-bar. There are 2 bottles of Spritzer, Malaysia’s premier brand (read: expensive) of mineral water provided free of charge to guests. It’s mineral water – the GOOD STUFF okayyyy? Not drinking water (I’m looking at you Le Méridien Putrajaya!) By the way, they also provide 2 more bottles of the same water in the bathroom.

The mini-bar fridge is full of refreshments. As Platinum+ members tho, you can get these free at the Club Lounge so why not go to the 33rd floor and get them yourself at no charge? I love the Badoit sparkling water the most. I love San Pellegrino more but hey I’ll take Badoit too.

They also provide coffee and tea for your enjoyment. The teas from the lounge is better tho plus more selections like chamomile, earl grey etc. One of the good reasons to be a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum/Titanium member!

Of course there’s a kettle for you to make hot water for your coffee or tea. And a teapot.

Le Bedroom
The bedroom continues the blue, purple and orange/brown color scheme altho more subdued. Art frames hanging above the headboard of the bed give it a nice touch. The most important feature of this Le Méridien Suite bedroom is the bed. It’s a king sized and topped with with one of the plushest mattress topper ever! OMG it was hard getting out of that bed! The 2 down-ish pillows were plush too. I’m not a fan of the other two pillows. I don’t even know how to describe them. Altho they are very typical Malaysian pillows like I have at my mom’s. So yeah request all down pillows!

As usual the bedroom also includes a TV I never use. There’s an area for your luggage below it.

However as in any hotel room I stay in, the most important thing is the in-room safe! Trust me if you have a laptop, you don’t want to be dragging it all over town while you are sightseeing Kuala Lumpur. I can confirm that this safe is big enough to fit my 15″ MacBook Pro laptop and other stuff.

There’s a mini closet by the sliding doors to the living room and the bath. Not sure why is it there when you have the big one by the main entrance to the suite. It’s kinda tiny!

Here’s another look from the bedside.

Le Bath
The bathroom has mood lighting that you can switch on/of, aptly called “Ambiance”. I love the 2 sinks especially if you have someone staying with you. There’s a lot of towels provided.

As with all Le Méridien hotels, Malin+Goetz toiletries are supplied with other standard bath amenities like toothpaste, toothbrush, shaver etc.

The toilet has a manual bidet. Dell loves that stuff haha

The tub is a stand alone tub compared to the Terrace Suite that was etched to the wall. I actually liked this version better as it is also deeper. The only problem with this particular suite’s tub was that it was leaking water all over the bathroom floor when I was filling it. It wasn’t even full! So that was the only problem I had during this stay. And you supposedly can pull up the blinds so you can see bedroom. I tried lifting it but it didn’t work tho!

The shower has nice modern glass doors. There’s an extra robe provided as well. You know it’s annoying when some hotels only provide 1 and you have to call for another one. So kudos for Le Méridien for the thoughtfulness!

I love the big rainshower head above! That thing gushes sooo much water; so close your eyes and you’ll feel like you’re at some exotic jungle waterfalls! Love that there’s also the secondary shower head that you could hold on to as well. Malin+Goetz shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Pro Tip: Use the shampoo instead of the shower gel in the tub to create a huge tub of bubbles!

Le Méridien Suite Final Thoughts
As I mentioned earlier, this is my first time staying at the Le Méridien Suite even tho I’ve stayed at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur many times before. This suite is definitely a contender for my favorite Terrace Suite. And the bed is to die for! If you’re Marriott Bonvoy Platinum/Titanium member, definitely request an upgrade to this suite. I forgot to take the scenic views of the gardens and lake you could see from this suite window but I’m sure I shall return again to Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur in the near future and I will take em! I will also post separate reviews of the other areas of the hotel like the Club Lounge in future articles.
Don’t forget about these important items to bring with you when you travel!
